To get a detailed summary of the meeting click here. PACT meetings give residents the chance to come and discuss local issues and possible projects to improve the area. At the meeting, the dog warden offered to support local people to tackle dog fouling as a group if they get in touch with her. There are a variety of things that can be done. We also heard that Lovell, the firm that is constructing new homes at Redland Park, will repair the damage to pavements done by their vehicles, once the construction work is over. There is interest in extending a fly-tipping removal project that is already run by the Changes group in Whiteway, to cover the Redland Park area with help from Redland Park residents. A litter pick is to be held at Redland Park, with a chance that other residents interested in tackling fly-tipping might come along. Meet by Woodview Terrace at Redland Park on 16th July at 10am. New issues raised at this PACT meeting included motorists parking on pavements and verges, and Somer Housing not listening to residents over the state of Redland Park. A Twerton resident is organising a fun day in Innox Park next year. Get in touch if you want to help. Joe, 28/06/11 Got a point of view? Put it on the Forum here. Bath Chronicle team in TwertonA team from the Bath Chronicle came to Twerton last Thursday, to set up a meeting point for residents to pass on news stories. The 'Meet the Reporter Surgery' was held at the Rose Cottage Cafe in Twerton High Street, and attracted some people to come in and suggest potential leads.
News editor Paul Wiltshire, reporter Felicity Crump and editor Sam Holiday It was interesting when an elderly lady turned up and showed an old photo of the dwellings that once existed where the derelict Herman Miller building is now. You can see the photo here. Look closely and you can make out the Golden Fleece Pub on the corner of Fielding's Road. The Chronicle staff hope to be holding these surgeries regularly, to see if they can represent more of Twerton life in their newspaper. Joe, 22/06/11 Got a point of view? Put it on the Forum here.
